About us

The mission of the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association, Inc. and Hall of Fame is to provide additional support to the football program, school (students & teachers), and community (parents & local supporters).  We achieve this by recognizing and honoring the excellence of past & present student-athletes, coaches, and educators.  The support includes financial assistance with athletic & academic needs as well as scholarship programs.  Our purpose is to educate football student athletes in addition to all students at the school and supporting members from the community on the following topics:

  1. Healthy lifestyles that can be achieved through sports and academic programs.
  2. Fostering community relations in a positive and fun environment by recognizing and honoring individuals who excelled in sports and academic programs.

As a player: Center and Defensive End, ‘84 County Champion, ‘85 State Semi-Finalist, All three varsity teams were ranked in the Washington Post Top 20. During the 1985 season, he was First Team All League, All County & All Metropolitan Honorable Mention. In 1986 he was an All Metropolitan Honorable Mention. Carlos was a team Co-Captain as a junior & senior. He participated in the program for four years, was a three year varsity starter, and was inducted in to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2021.
Antoin Tony Law

As a player: Running Back, ‘81 County Champion, ‘81 All League, ‘81 Prince Georges Journal All County, ‘81 Sentinel Newspaper All County, ‘81 American High School Athlete selection, ‘81 Washington District Officials Association League Most Valuable Player, and first 2,000 yard career rusher in program history. He participated in the program for three years and was a starter each year. Tony was inducted in to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2021.

As a player: Kicker and Tight End, ‘84 County Champion, ‘85 State Semi-Finalist, and ‘85 All League selection as a Kicker. Three years in the program as a player, fifteen years as an assistant coach and six years as head coach. He led the team from 2003 to 2006. Honor, tradition and dedication remained strong under his leadership. He was known for developing young men on and off the field. Stefan was inducted in to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2021.

As a player: Linebacker, ‘84 County Champion, ‘84 Prince George’s Journal 2nd Team All County, ‘85 State Semi-Finalist, ‘85 Co-Captain, ‘85 Team Defensive Most Valuable Player, ‘85 Prince George’s Journal 2nd Team All County and ‘85 All Metropolitan Honorable Mention. He coached the Hornet defense from 2002 through 2008. Eddie was inducted in to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2021.

As a player: three years in the program, two year starter, and team leader in receptions as a senior. As a coach: Thirty plus years coaching football & basketball. Dale has coached boys & girls club teams as well as high school. He is Co-Founder & Vice President of the Eusibio “Bo” McCoy Foster Children’s Support Project, Inc, t/a BoFostersHope, Inc. It is a non-profit organization that provides programs for children in foster care and disadvantaged youth. In 2021, Dale was the first recipient of the Ralph C. Paden Man of the Year Award for community service. He was inducted in to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2022.

Gary Freeland

As a player: DB-LB-WR. He is a 2021 Hall of Fame inductee! ‘83 League & Regional Champ who helped us appear in our first state championship game that season. Two year starter at DB who was a member of one of the greatest defenses in program history (‘83 season, ‘83 – ‘84 school year). Six out of the first seven games were shut outs. Had 3 int’s (2 were pick 6’s) against arch rival Forestville his senior year! He was inducted to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2021.

As a player: QB. A champion gunslinger who was part of the ‘81 and ‘83 season conference champions. Team Captain who led the Hornets to a regional championship and the school’s first state championship appearance during the ‘83 season. He was inducted to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2021.

As a player: Running Back, Quarterback, Wide Receiver, Linebacker, Long Snapper and Holder. He was a 2001 Team Co-Most Valuable Player, ‘01 Captain, ‘01 All County Honorable Mention (All Purpose Player), ‘01 Team Leader in Pass Receptions-Receiving Yards-Receiving TD’s, and ‘01-‘02 County All Star Game Selection. As a coach: He coached the junior varsity Hornets during the 2004 – 2005 school year and currently coaches youth football on Long Island in New York. Dawhite was inducted in to the Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2022.

Napoleon "Manzy" Queen

As a player: QB, three years in the program, and key player on the 1986 team that won 7 out of its final 8 games after he took over as the starter in week 3.  His flawless play led the Hornets to a Washington Post Top 20 ranking in the DMV area.  As a HOF Manager he has overseen the two largest and most successful off campus ceremonies in school history in 2022 (385 attendees) and in 2023 (460 attendees).  He is also a 2024 Fairmont Heights Football Alumni Association Hall of Fame inductee.

As a founding member of the Hall of Fame ceremony: Has successfully managed the check in process for the three largest off campus ceremonies in school history.  Attendance has consistently peaked (192 in 2021, 385 in 2022, and 460 in 2023 ), while receiving consistent praise for excellent management.
